yay!! lol got appoved this year and engaged!
soo the question is can I start the paper work to get my green card oor do we have to wait until we get the marriage certificate? thank

After you get your marriage certificate, you can start the process of adjustment immediately. You should be able to get your green card within months. And congratulation !

Depends on whether they are marrying a USC or a PR.

If a permanent resident then they would need probably an i245. For USC this was changed in 2012 where they can apply for a waiver.

If you file right after you get your marriage certificate you will be granted conditional PR only.
