Is burning the flag a crime??

Is burning the US flag a crime here in the United States??

I think once I heard that it was, but im not sure. Does anyone know for sure??

I'm all for making statements, but I really hope you don't intend to burn the flag as an act of protest. This works well in some situations, but especially after we've seen the backlash from the display of a handful of Mexican flags in the May Day protests, doing this would be digging your own grave.

mexican flags are also fun to burn.

practically any flag is fun to burn. you just have to get it the right temperature
