A family friend of mine did not qualify for DACA and is obviously having some trouble finding work. I had a talk with her to try and figure out her options and I am in need of some advise/help. She recently divorced her very abusive husband and now needs to work in order to support herself. Her husband had a license and a social (but was still undocumented) and didn't really do much to help her fix her status which is probably why he had so much control over her. She told me that she is having trouble finding nanny jobs because they ask for a drivers license and a social which she cannot provide. Any ideas of where she can find work? She is so desperate but does not know where to go. Aren't there night time jobs in factories and such? ( I know that sounds horrible, but she would take anything) I just know any kind of income would help her get back on her feet. I'm calling my friends and family members to see if I can find something for her. Thanks so much guys!

What state is she in? I've found that the jobs that are mostly like to pay off the books/cash are in the restaurant/fast food business. Cashiers, waiters, dishwashers, cooks, etc.

She lives in California. I guess it really is getting harder out there... Thank you so much for your reply!

It wasn't really documented but she did mention it in her divorce and is receiving some spousal support. It really is close to nothing but its better than nothing..

That's probably a good option! Thank you! Wouldn't she be able to work as an independent contractor and use an ITIN if she did that?

She would get fined for selling food without the required permits...
