anyone has been requested more evidence for their work permit? i just did

today they finally updated my case online for my work permit, and it says they just mailed a notice requesting more evidence from me.

isn't that a bit weird since they already accepted my DACA? i have always heard that they request extra evidence for the DACA but no for the work permit.

what could they want? i am a bit in disbelief now my work permit process is delayed, and who knows when it will be accepted, if ever

What kind of info did you give them? Is this for renewal?

not renewal, was first time. and what do you mean what kind of info did i gave them? i filled the application, wrote the essay thing, and submited whatever was asked ( cant remember ) in conjunction with my DACA. i mean a church helped me fill all the stuff, and it was a good solid case, i mean my daca got accepted right on time, no problem

You are getting it all confused. Your DACA is directly linked to your work permit. You get a work permit if your DACA is approved.

They are sending you a RFE - request for more evidence because they reviewed your case and decided that you did not submit enough evidence to prove you are eligible for DACA benefits.

This RFE gives you another shot in giving them what they want as evidence for your eligibility. DO NOT take it for granted. Wait for the letter and if it seems complicated consult a lawyer. If you fail to give the documents they need you will get a denial.

His DACA was approved but his EAD got hit with a RFE. I saw someone on this forum had that happen to them as well and the RFE for the EAD was asking if he's ever worked before with another name. So he will have to wait and see what they are requesting for on his RFE for EAD.

no you see, my DACA was aproved, i have the paper, now they are requesting additional evidence for my EAD, which is weird because as far as i know once they aprove your daca, they almost always instantly approve you EAD. i really dont know what could be, or what kind of evidence would they need me to submit. and i was asking just to see if anyone had it happen and what they needed to submit. i know every case is different, but still.

Looks like they want to see if you qualify for work authorization. For DACA and Deferred Action, you have to prove to USCIS that you have a necessity for work. In order to prove this, you must write down your income and expenses on form I-765WS.

There are no set guidelines for what constitutes a necessity for work. And there is no "enough" income or ratio of income to expenses to qualify for work authorization. They could deny you outright by merely saying that you don't need it.

However, I think they may be RFE'ing you by wanting to see your income or expenses or need more information on those. See what the RFE says and then go ahead and answer their question.

Thats weird. My first time applying I didnt write down any expenses or income and I still got approved.

I hope is something simple. I really cannot fathom what could I have missed since I am already approved for daca itself. We'll see when it gets what it is.
