My EAD expires on 9/18/2014. My Biometrics appt. for the renewal was on 8/15/2014. Based on other's timetables it takes roughly 60 days from the biometrics date to receive the renewed EAD. So I'm fairly certain that my renewal will not be received in time.

I am seeking advice on what I can do to avoid losing my job and renew my driver's license.

I'm in the same boat. Mine expires 9/26 and did my biometrics on 7/28. I doubt i'll be able to get my renewed ead in time and I'm most likely going to try to see if I can continue working with an expired ead if I can since my employer has yet to bring this issue up to me.

call USCIS and see if you can talk to a level 2 rep or something. in the mean time you should write to the Ombudsman. i don't know what else to say....after that write to your congressman.

Write to the Ombudsman and have your local Congressman/woman help you out.

Level 2 rep at USCIS can't do anything to help you.
Trust me, I'm 72 days out on my renewal application, and I'm expiring on 9/26. I have pursued almost every avenue out there to get that shit figured out.

First original approvals started back on 9-10. In 10 days we should know. I will know as early as Tuesday where I stand with my 9-11 expiration.

20 years ago or so, I knew someone who had gotten married to a USC and well, things turned ugly with his wife before his final interview and his work permit had expired while his lawyer was in the process of figuring out what to do next. The lawyer's advice was that the IRS and INS (back in those days, that's what they were called) are different entities and businesses at the time didn't spend every day checking everybody's work permits. Not saying one way or another what you should do, but just something to remember.

My employers (Olive Garden) keep getting emails about my EAD expiring thus the constant reminders. My managers say that they could lose their job if they keep me employed, so I guess I'll be getting the boot once 9/27 comes.
