I am a restaurant manager in Arizona. Up until a few years ago, I was extremely naive about "illegal immigration" I know that sounds ironic, but I believed all of my employees had gone through the appropriate "red tape" to work in the US legally. Upon becoming close to several Hispanic families whom I employ, I heard the stories of their travel to the US during their childhood or adolescence. I've learned about how they obtained illegal work documentation. Sometimes, these stories were not pretty. Involvement in situations beyond their control was very common. As a mother, my heart goes out to the parents who just wanted the best for their kids. As a human being, my heart aches for these children not born but raised in the US, a product of our school system and society. A few young ladies I know were brought here before their memory serves them. And yet, they cannot go to college. I understand the need for secure borders, however, at what point is the line drawn? We need to take action for these "American" children. The constituents/voters need to hear the voice of these young people and find it in their hearts to look at the bigger picture....

Thank you for understanding, it helps if you spread the word to others who are unaware of situations like ours.

I am trying to spread the word among the younger registered voters, many of whom went to school or work closely with the people affected by this. We need to get the word out. I asked about 15 people today about the Dream Act and many were not aware. The ones who were aware unfortunately cannot vote. I believe getting young Americans registered and involved in something they can believe in will make a huge difference.
