I just want to know the usernames/emails of all the Dreamers who have a degree in Accounting. I have good news for you guys and I will try to possibly do a mailing list for updates about these said news. Possibly you guys can do it too, or we can help each other in the process of becoming a CPA, Starting your business, building your professional career, or whatever your goal/DREAM is.

For a license to become a CPA, you need at least 1 year of work experience from an accounting firm (not getting paid off the books at some tax office down the corner).

How do you go about doing this

I work at an office down the corner. I do get paid off the book (by check though). But it is a legitimate Accounting firm in business for over 25 years. I really don't know how to prove the experience but my boss said hell back me up. I'm scheduled to take BEC on Aug 31st. What's the good news Eric?? I believe the experience requirement is 2 years for most states.

I thought Accounting does count in the point for Canada in the Federal Worker's program?
You just need 67 right?

Anybody else planning on taking any CPA sections soon? How are you preparing? I'm using a Wiley book for BEC. I don't think a course is required for this section but I might need one for the rest of the sections. Maybe Rogers. Also Tyler, any idea on how the AICPA/NASBA eventually determines the experience? I really don't think you should be worrying about that. The important part is that they will let you sit for the exam. Passing will take some time obviously.

Not too sure about the requirements. Will look into it once I get a chance.

Have you ever considered Canada though? Would you go there?

Yes, most definitely. It's a good place to work IF you are highly skilled and have a degree. Otherwise don't bother because you won't find any job. You become a citizen in 3 years after becoming a permanent resident. Honestly if you're thinking about it, go for it. Don't rely on this DA business. Just wait to see what happens this one last time. But if there is no action by March of next year, I would consider that the end of the immigration debate.

Then you can always apply after 10 years to come to USA anyway.
