I consider myself very lucky (for the most part)!

After years (pretty much since being approved for DACA), I've been wanting to get AP so I can fix my EWI, and hopefully adjust my status. All my family lives in MX, I am the only one who lives here. My grandmother has dementia and I have a niece with epilepsy. Still, everyone refused to send me any medical records, yay for crappy families!

Anyway, I consider myself lucky because I work with an immigration attorney. I have pretty much worked with her since having been approved for DACA , and she was hesitant to apply for AP for me to see clients in Mexico because she didn't want to put me at risk of not coming back. But I was finally able to convince her! So we applied on 9-4-15 and the reasons were meeting with a client at the U.S. Embassy for their visa appointment in Juarez. I applied for multiple entries, since we have multiple clients, so I will going to Juarez several times during the next year if AP is approved. All my family lives in Juarez anyway, so I will be visiting them and working at the same time, to kill two birds with one stone (I haven't seen them since they left in 2011) I will be traveling by car, going through CBP at the international bridge, and my boss will be going with me. I am nervous and excited. And hopefully this will be the beginning of the end of my undocumented status!

Hello everyone,

I am going to apply for AP in the next few weeks and wanted to see if someone can guide me through all the steps you have taken. I have read the application over and over and I am thinking about doing it on my own without a lawyer. Any information you can give me is highly appreciated.

I applied for DACA in 2012. I also think I have been very lucky. I always worked here and payed taxes with my tax id so I think that helped me. I applied in August and my approval came really quick.

Last year I renewed my card and it also came very quick. After I got my work permit my life really changed. I now drive, bought my own car, have a good job, have been promoted. I am really happy.

The company I work for has a training every year in Amsterdam and last year I didn't go because I was in the middle of renewing my papers so I was scared to apply for AP and not get it. This year I really don't want to miss the opportunity again. I feel like it is the perfect opportunity. They pay for every thing and it is training for work. The trip is in January so I will apply withing the next week.

A little more info about me, I have been in the US for 16 years, I came when I was 14 from Brazil and have never been back. Please let me know what you guys think and the steps you have taken.

Thank you!

For my particular case, I filled out the form, then I used a letter from my employer explaining why I needed to travel, a paystub to prove I am employed by her, a G-28 for her client, my passport, copy of my EAD, copy of my approval notices, and that's it! I hope it gets approved. Good luck!

I am applying soon as well just waiting for a few documents. I want to do it myself without a lawyer but I am so scared to mess it up. I did my DACA on my own and it worked out fine but this seems much scarier.

I apologize if these questions sound stupid but I just want to be sure.

For question 6, Class of admission what should I answer? Is it the type of passport/visa I have?

I am from Brazil and I only have my passport no visa anymore. I plan to travel to Europe and Brazilians don't need a Visa to travel through Europe.

Also for part 2: Application Type

I believe the correct answer should be 1d. "I am applying for AP to allow me to return to the US after temporary foreign travel.

For part 3: Date of intended departure.
My trip will be between 3-5 days. I don't have the exact answer because it will depend on my job. Also the travel date might differ a few days. Does that have to be 100% accurate?

I will be leaving most likely on 1/18/2016, 1/19/2016 or 1/20/2016 but I don't have the exact one.

And then for question part 5: Since you became a permanent resident of the US, have you filed a federal income tax return as a non resident or failed to file federal income ta return because you considered yourself to be a nonresident.

I'm not sure what to answer here. I've been here for 16 years, got my DACA in 2012 but ever since I started working I always paid my taxes. Now with my social and before with a tax id. What do I answer for this question?

I really appreciate the help.

Thank you!
