I keep seeing people post mainly humanitarian reasons such as sick relative and things of that sort for AP applications, but what if you don't have sick relatives? What if I just want to visit without having to lie about a sick grandparent or other family member? I know "just visiting" isn't a valid reason but has anyone used and gotten apprroved for another reason other than sickness or death?

If there is already a thread about this, please feel free to move this post. Thanks.

Old relatives work too, they don't need to be on their deathbed but you know, a 93 year old great-grandma isn't going to be around for much longer.

So do I just ask to go visit an old relative or just a relative who I haven't seen in a long time?? Will that work?

You can also just go visit and volunteer for a bit. I filed volunteering as a humanitarian reason, and had no issues at all.
