So I just booked my first flight. I'm super excited and nervous.

Thing is, I made a mistake and I don't know what to do.

I have two last names in my passport but my boarding ticket only has my first last name.

I called the airline and they told me they can't change my name on the ticket, but that they sent a note to TSA letting them know I have two last names, which made me super afraid because I'm undocumented and my passport has no visa in it and I know you shouldn't give TSA extra reason to double check me. I'm thinking of just buying another ticket with my two last names and count my money on the ticket bought as lost. Thing is, I don't have too much money to spare.

I'm so afraid of getting deported over this .

I'm flying from a small regional airport where I hope there is no immigration.

What would you do in my place? Take the risk or book another flight?

Most of the airlines let you use the funds for a different ticket. If I was u I would call the air line and tell them that now I would need a different flight and when the book you next ticket add the 2nd last name.

Yeah, I was thinking about doing that, since my flight is a couple of months away, maybe I have the time to still do it.

The only two times I've been in an airplane, I only put my first last name and there were no problems. I flew from big airports, and my passport has two last names, I'm also undocumented .

You'll be fine flying with just 1 last name on your ticket. I've flown before with just my maiden name on my ticket and my maiden and married name was on my passport.

Okay, that gives me so much more tranquility. A question, when you flew with just one last name, did TSA stop you to ask you more questions?

Thanks!

TBH I would go with your gut feeling (as obnoxious as it may sound) it's better to be safe than sorry.
