Any benefit in creating USCIS account?

If I created a USCIS online account to view my case status would that show me anything new like new approvals, that I currently can't already view by submitting my receipt # on the "check my status" page? Thanks

The only benefit I see with ELIS is that you can see the notices right there.

how do you see the notices? I created an account under the check my case status. I added both receipt #s and I only see the general messages i.e. we have scheduled you for biotmetrics but I can't actually see the form. I have been waiting over 7 days for my bio. it shipped on Dec 23. Is Elis and the my case status account the same?
