Given that some of us, whose EADs are set to expire in September, how soon should we schedule an info-pass appointment to request an interim EAD so as to continue employment as well as renew our ID/ DL?

If info pass does not resolve the issue, we are doomed.
should we all start calling to find out so that there are x number of calls with the same question and uscis will hopefully provide an update on their website.

I want to wait until first week of September. I'm willing to give them all of August to work through our documents.

EDIT:
I just called USCIS, and they gave me the same time frame for I-821D processing as last time: 6 months. I asked if that was based on the 5/31/2014 report, and she said it was actually based on information that they received on 7/17/2014. She said the 6-month time frame is for the form in general; there is no separate timeline for the renewals.

I asked about getting our EADs temporarily extended until we receive final approval on our renewal, and she knew nothing about it.

Here is what the website actually says, though:
Quote:
Renewing DACA After Your Current Period Expires
If your current period of DACA expires before you receive a renewal:

You will:
Accrue unlawful presence for any time between the periods of deferred action

Unless you:
Were under 18 years of age at the time you submitted your renewal request

You will:
Not be authorized to work in the United States regardless of your age at the time of filing

Unless you:
Receive a new Employment Authorization Document from USCIS

Note: If USCIS is unexpectedly delayed in processing your renewal request, we may provide deferred action and employment authorization for a short period of time until we finish processing your request. We may do this if you filed your request at least 120 days before your current period of deferred action and employment authorization expire.
Are we fucked? We're fucked, right?
And I just started my new job today.

There's no reason to panic at the moment. The person you talked to said it's taking 6 months in general and they don't have a separate timeline for renewals. I'm still hoping that the I-765 takes 90 days. I don't understand why it would take 6 months for renewals when there's no evidence to go over. The fact still remains that there a lot of other people who get their work permits renewed and I don't see why it should be any different for us. With all that being said we better find out fast how the EAD temporary extension works because it seems like they're not aware of it or they're not anticipating mass requests for temporary extensions.

The woman said that an I-765 isn't processed until the I-821D is approved. So she was telling me to rely on the 6 months, not the 90 days.

Logically, it doesn't make sense that renewals take as long as or longer than an initial application. That's why we're all worrying. Where does one go to find out the temporary EAD extension process?

I checked the Infopass website but have not been able to find a choice that specifically meets our problem.

There's nothing we can do at the moment because we're all still within the timeline it takes to process. I seriously don't think it'll take 6 months to renew the I-821D because we're not initial applicants and we're in the system already. It's taking 6 months+ for initial applicants which is understandable. They don't have a timeline for renewals so there's no way for us to know for sure what the actual timeline is. Also, I found this website with EAD extension/delay information. Apparently, USCIS no longer issues temporary extensions! What we can do is issues a service request on the 75th day. Interestingly enough, those of us who have our renewals in Nebraska can send an expedited request. Also, USCIS is aware of processing delays in some cases and they're working on it. I also found the actual letter from the CIS Ombudsman to USCIS about the EAD processing. The response by USCIS gives me hope that we'll be fine.

Aug 2012 submission checking in.
Sometimes being approved late is a blessing in disguise. Government agencies are usually slow at updating their timeline. It will not make sense to take 6 months to renew DACA

WOW, how long has it been since USCIS stopped issuing temporary EADs?

I'm 41 days pending, so I guess I have until mid-August to start sending in my expedite request. How do we contact the Nebraska Service Center, though?

We have to call the National Customer Service Center according to the USCIS memo I posted. So if by mid to late August I don't hear anything from them I'll be calling them to expedite my renewal. That's about the only thing I think we can do at this point. But we'll just have to be patient at this point because we have no other choice.

I don't know about you, but if the timeline is 6 months, fuck that. The whole reason you renew shit is so you can continue whatever you're doing, and if we are to follow their guideline for the timeline, we are screwed. We need to let USCIS know that they are going to have a lot of people pissed if they can't get our stuff renewed before they expire. We paid for this, and it's their responsibility to make sure that we are not out of status, and lose everything that we've worked for. If anything, give us the extension as promised.
