Live stream now:

9th U.S. Circuit Court of appeals 2-7-17

State of Washington vs. Trump (DOJ)

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=76j1MQ36Hrk

DOJ is getting eviscerated.

**Likely a preview of the next four years. Executive passes regressive EO, States sue; like Obama and the State of Texas all over again.***

The irony is rich.

The State, in order to establish standing, referenced a 2015, 5th circuit court ruling that Texas had standing to sue Obama for his immigration initiative, among other things.

Yeah I can take some small comfort in knowing that if Trump loses and this goes to the supreme court, worst case it will be another 4-4 tie the way it was against the 5th circuit.

Yeah but with Scalia alive that'd be a 5-4 against and they'd go after DACA'12 next. 4-4 was unfortunately the best we could've gotten considering that GOP blocked any votes on Obama's nominee.

Scalia kicking the bucket saved us. Honestly I have no idea why they fought against that injunction. Should've just let the judge's decision become final, and no DAPA in an uninhabited part of Texas.

Now lets hope that:
1) Democrats stonewall any debate on Trump's nominee.
2) Trump doesn't recess appoint him.
3) Republicans don't nuke the filibuster on Scotus appointments.
4) Ruth Ginsburg lives to be 100.
5) Democrats grab a senate majority in 2018 (very unlikely).
6) Landslide victory in 2020...

Seriously, she's working out and doing push ups every morning. The future of this country depends on her staying alive for another 4 or 8 years.

Another case to follow is one challenging partisan gerrymandering. If it succeeds then republicans won't ever hold the house.
