A couple of members have worked with an expired work card while they got their new one. When mine was delayed I got fired. Sure, it set me back at little, but I got rehired later on. Maybe your job can work something out with you? Do they have positions often?

and no they don't have open positions often its only like 13 employees. so pretty much they hire someone else when one of us quits.

I have a question when my EAD expired my employer never asked me to show my renewed EAD so if I have a valid EAD then I am fine. Right?

One of my past employers had an expired EAD on file. We both simply forgot to update it to the current one. It wasn't until months later I realized this that I went to my employer with my new card. I have since accepted another job at a different company.

If it comes up, I recommend asking if you can take a leave of absence until it arrives. Work it out with your employer when they ask.

If your EAD expired you can get 180 day extension, if you applied for renewal before that.

"If you do not receive your renewal EAD before you current EAD expires:, then this notice of action automatically extends the validity of your EAD for up to 180 days from expiration date printed on the face of the card."
