Weird how green card holders must have their card on them at all times, but work permit are exempt.

Then again when they do biometrics they tie your work permit to your face and fingerprints.

I didn't read the article but every non-citizen is supposed to have their green card, visa, or whatever proof that they're here legally on them at all times.

My license has proof, but I almost never carry my EAD.

Nothing new. SSS is for when you apply for N-400 though.

1) You need to prove you’re an immigrant in your tax filing every year. That’s misleading because you’re only required to file a nonimmigrant 1040 only if you weren’t present in the US for a certain amount of time. All of us under DACA would never need to file under nonimmigrant because we were already present in the US for the required time and can file a normal 1040

2) You need to register for the selective service if you’re a man between age 18-26 or else you’re deported. Again, misleading. You’re automatically registered if you apply for a green card. If you try to avoid registration and you fall within the age range, you could get prosecuted for it and in effect be deported. But that’s extremely rare. And DACA usually have to register to get a Drivers license or apply for college aid

3) You can lose your green card if you stay outside the U.S for a long vacation. Yes. You can be denied entry to the U.S and lose your green card for staying outside the U.S for 6 months or more. If you need to stay outside for that long you can apply for a reentry permit. And you could technically avoid it if you “maintain a U.S address”. You would have to wait longer to apply for citizenship but you would maintain status

Yeah this new "laws" have always been here and even then, they are very misleading
