As of yesterday my advanced parole has been approved... I am curious as to what I should expect next. I know I should bring the AP document with me. As well as my ID. Passport and maybe even my EAD and social cards... Is there anything else I should bring and is there anything I'm thinking of bringing that's not necessary?

Also what should I expect upon reentry? Will I just walk right back or will I be questioned? If so what questions should I prepare myself to answer?

Sorry if these are all stupid questions, but I just want to be as prepared as possible. And I know a lot of people here have done this so any information would be amazing.

How long did it take to you to get approved? please share your timeline.

Just take your Passport and AP with you. You will be taken to secondary inspection. It depends how busy they are at that moment. It should not take more than 15 mins. They might ask you basic questions like where are you coming from, how long did you stay.

For sure to travel you need passport and AP (needed for reentry). You definitely should keep the I-821D and EAD securely with you just in case. You only present your passport and AP and you should be alright, just make sure you enter before the date that they're allowing in the AP document. It should say that you must be back prior to a certain day.

Once you present that AP and Passport, they should take you to a separate room and an officer will just check, might ask a question or two (that was my experience, very smooth).

also, make sure to read dates for departure and return. do not leave before and enter after. so lets say if approved from October 15 to November 15 then try to leave on October 16 and return before November 15. also, try to return few days before dead line just incase delayed with flights, wether...etc

from airport you will see two sections. one is for green card/citizenship and second for visitors. so you go on visitor section. thats all.

What reason you used to apply for AP?
