The only way they can get this mass deportation done is if they can scare people into leaving. The people they could convince the most are likely the most critical in agriculture, construction, processing industries.

If you stop and think about its an admission of failure/weakness. Failed mass deportations. This slipped past a lot of people in the comments section. They have to get this done before midterms before their voters eat them alive for cutting services and bennies. They are already moving to virtual town halls. Lmao.

But don't worry, sleepy dems will likely still be woke and in shambles.

If you hold out long enough, the government is going to start offering people money to self-deport. I believe Japan did something similar in the 1990s and offered foreign nationals X amount to leave the country. At the time, the economy was suffering from deflation

FWIW, while it seems nothing has changed, I am very concerned that they are working behind the scenes to do something dramatic. Mass deportations can't happen from one day to the next. The most ominous news of the past couple of months is that they moved a lot of agents from other areas like drug interdictions and such to deportations.

Very true, though I still caution against fear. They want us to be afraid so we make mistakes. Let them do all the mistakes. I think they are doing all they can so far, but without legislation and more funding they can't do much more. You see homan complaining about the same.

We will see what they do with the upcoming house legislation. It was supposed to be due the 14th but now it's under a CR.

The articles oftentimes say

"The CBP Home App gives aliens the option to leave now and self-deport, so they may still have the opportunity to return legally in the future".

I think this would work great if self deporting cleared EWI and Ban, and you could get a visitor visa to see family members. A lot of us have older family members that never built any retirement kind of want to go back, but not really.

I think Carnie is right on this one.

He will be back in the USA before we're legalized! Heck, he might even luck himself into an Employment Visa with 1337 coding skills while we're all here with walkers and canes yelling at each other in this decrepit old forum
