Actually when the dream act was first introduced, it got a lot of supporters. I actually wondered why it didn't pass then when I saw that a couple months ago.(Looking back of course since I was in middle school then.)

I guess the anti-immigration wave took over the republicans and they started walked away.

Imo,Peter King is out for good.It appears from time to time though he does have a soft spot by giving private bills to some dreamers,but since he is from New York 9/11 seemed to have changed everything for him.
