Just a question to everyone here. Why are you trying to get a legal status? Why bother with all this? What do you have to fight for?

I have my reasons. Ever since I was 8, I knew I wanted to be a scientist and help the world (ya, the stereotype). Now I am 19, a physics and math major at a university in NJ. Still 100% sure that I want to be a scientist and bring change to this world. Get active in politics, global relief, etc etc. Getting this citizenship would open up my path to a PhD (High Energy Physics) and an MBA (International Business) which I plan to do simultaneously. I've been working on my plan for a long time but my illegal immigration status is a hindrance. Quitting is never an option. I plan to go through with my ambition or die trying. Greater good of people in general (black, white, man, woman, asian, arabic, whatever) is what interests me.

This is my reason to keep on going. What are you guys chasing? Please be honest. If it is money, there is nothing wrong with that. I don't judge people. It creates a lot of delusions.

i am more of a humanitarian-no more violence-hippie-kind of person and my dream is to open orphanages and refugee homes around the world to help stop starvation and liberate all those people from warfare.
but i want to be a millionaire im good with business and thats what i plan to do as a career. and once i become a millionaire im going to open all those houses.

but, i need my papers first to get to where i really want to be. i want to travel and feel free. ... visit the countries that need the most help. you know? make a change in the world. show people that if we did it, so can they. i want to be someone in life.

I want a better home. I want a nice space where I can kick back and feel good about myself. I just want to be an active person contributing to society and the economy in general.

Saving the world is one of my goals also but my immediate reasons for trying to become legal is so i can afford college, get a better job, and work legally when i graduate from college. I would also like to backpack around the world and it would be a whole lot easier if i had a us passport. Plus i consider myself an American so this is my country. This is why i try so hard

I like living in New York City.

I've been here for six years now and I want to continue working and living here, of course with benefits. I did not suffer any hardships nor do I have to stay in the United States for economic reasons, I simply like it. I know it sounds pretty horrible, but everyone has their reasons.

I guess my intention is not as noble as others. I completed bachelor in C.S. and Economics with math minor. One semester away from completing my Masters in CS. And all thanks to law that allowed me to pay in state tuition in NY. I want to pursue PHD in bioinformatics or MBA in business technology. I need job experience before i pursue further studies. And only way i can do it if dream act passes. Hopefully someday i can work for some big research company and make some money.

I have been living here longer then anyother place in the world and the reason we came here was for a better life without worrying about our safety I like it here I feel safe although sometimes I worry but not for safety. I made a life here I learned the language, here is were I belong. Having papers would only make life better and that is the reason that where all here. Well almost everyone.

My motivation is to finally live a normal life.

Drive
Work in a decent place
Continue my education
Become a Certified Public Accountant
& Have a nice house where I can raise my family

The Dream Act NEEDS to pass next year. No doubt!

Mandeep, this is my country, this is my home. It's as if someone is constantly trying to kick me out of my home. And what else can I do but fight to stay in my home.
