Went to a different DMV(Ann Arbor) today and same result. However, the lady there was really nice and respectful. I was trying to be sneaky and renew my DL with only my SSC. But it doesn't work and she ask me for my documents and I nervously pull out my EAD. The first thing she did was to check the category. She then have everyone close to the counter to step back. She lower her voice and start explaining the whole DL situation. She said that previously Michigan won't issue DL to DACAer, as we all know. The decision has been changed and we can start applying on Feb, 19. I asked her if the DL will look different, she told me that it will look the same. Only the expiration day is limited to our EAD's expireation.

Mine expired for almost 2 years. Michigan is the most generous state when it come to renewing expired DL. I have seen people who have an expired DL for almost 5 year and got renew with just an eye test and a $7 fine.
