On Thursday, December 18, U.S. Rep. Luis V. Gutierrez (D-IL) joined Frank Sharry, Executive Director of America's Voice, Simon Rosenberg, President and Founder of NDN, and pollster David Mermin, partner of Lake Research Partners, to discuss the chances for enacting comprehensive immigration reform in 2009 and beyond.

It is pretty interesting that they want to move in a comprehensive package. Still I think if there is a opportunity for the DREAM to pass before that happens. There just has to be enough support built early.

I am also interested in who will replace Sen. Kennedy's spot in the judiciary. I hope it is Sen. Menendez.

These people need to understand that you need to chew before you swallow. Dream act is more passable and if it fails again it would be early indication that CIR have no shot of passing. It would be wise to do thing incrementally.

The person who is next in line to take over the Senate Immigration sub-committee is actually Senator Feinstein. The likelihood of Agjobs getting out of that committee has risen considerably over Dream act in the 111th.Imo,We need to try and add Dream act to Education reform or any appropriate legislation that must pass relating to Education or to the Military.CIR is extremely risky, all imo.
