I think it's your parent's fault so don't feel bad, they knew what they were doing.

Don't blame anyone here, let's not play the blaming game... Just hang in there for more time I'm pretty sure something will most likely happen. I know everything seems like it's going down the drain but if you keep going to school and earn a degree you will be able to make them happy the way you want to. Don't get frustrated your parents are all young and they have all the time in the world to be happy later on. My parents had me at the same age and I just make fun of them like I'll call them hoes or something so try that? What state are you from?

They wanted to come here to give me "a better life", otherwise they might have stayed there, who knows. I know it wasn't my choice to come into this world, but I feel like now, at the age of 22, I can really help them.
The problem is, i don't have any ss number, id, friends to help me. It is so limited on what I can do for them right now. I feel like I am freeloading off them. I wish I can help them out in paying bills, advice, etc. They are also paying for my college and I just attend and not work. So this is my idea. If the dream act doesn't pass by next year I will go back to my country alone. I will try and make it back there and not be in their way. I want to send them money from ecuador, ironically enough, and at least help them be happier. what do you guys think? or do you have any other ideas?
I'll be your friend. For real. I don't have a lot going for me, I'm incredibly busy when I'm not posting on here, but you can vent with me. Just send me a PM.

We all need each other here.

Hey Fd--

I can't tell you what you should do and why you should do it---
but don't blame yourself for their situation.
I don't think your parents would want you too, either.
They pay because they want to help you. And they came to America to help themselves, too. Study hard.

HUGS.

same situation here, but the answer is simple (i just don't want to admit it). Get a job like the other millions of undocumented immigrants here. Chances are you'll be making more money ladscaping than you would be as a professional in (insert country of origin) and you don't have to lose doing a currency exchange.

Listen, I know how you feel. My parents aren't doing too bad, but they are far from even being considered low middle class. They had me at a young age and immigrated here with me in mind. I'm 20 about to be 21 and they are paying for my college, and barely making it for themselves and my younger siblings. I have considered doing the same thing, but the one thing I realize is that no matter if I get a great job back in my home country I will still not be making enough to support myself and send money back here. Instead I got a job and applied for as many scholarships as I could. I'm slowly but surely relying less on them and getting myself up on my feet. It wasn't easy, but its not impossible. They still help me out but I manage to carry some of the burden on my shoulders. Don't lose hope, especially now. Things look difficult and hopeless now but things always get better. It's impossible and expansive for the government to search, find, process, and deport millions of people. They're tough on us now but as soon as the border is secure they will pass some form of a bill that provide a way for us ALL. Just hang in there and don't lose hope. Keep in mind how much you will be able to help your family when you become a resident and work within your career choice.

as much as i hate to admit it, you are all right. But it's not easy living with this scarlet letter on me all the time. I guess I must force myself to accept what you guys are saying and grow up.
