Ok, so hopefully I'm not the only one who's freaking out about this little detail.

Would you guys think that the school transcripts must be official (as in a sealed envelope) or would unofficial be fine?

I just gathered up a box of report cards and yearbooks from grades 2-12, and bank statements from recent years. Also looking for any medical bills and stuff. The more crap you can find the better

Anyone can make an "unofficial transcript." If DHS rejects your transcript because of this, You're gonna get majorly screwed. Just go to the main office of your HS and get one. Shouldn't be that hard.

I would just request sealed transcripts, just to be on the safe side.

Thing is, I just came back from my High school and the lady there said she couldn't mail me an official transcript >.>" only unofficial. She said she could only mail official ones to either another school, an employer or a lawyer. =/ Think she doesn't know what she's talking about? Maybe I'll try going there again tomorrow and tell her that I REALLY need an official transcript in my hands.

Any suggestions on what I should do?

Um.. I think that lady is totally wrong. It is your personal info, and you can request official sealed transcript for any purpose. One option is that if you know anyone who owns a business or manager of a business, you can explain to them and have your school mail it to over there and get it...

Hm... I suppose I will try to have it mailed to a family's friend store then. Thanks for the suggestion.

I once had to get a high school transcript for college and the college would only accept an official transcript sealed in an envelope and my high school stamped the envelope on the back with the school logo so u can't tell if someone opened it.
