The fact that the immigration officer had no idea what deferred action was even with your parole document is incredibly risky. You're lucky because the officers who reviewed your case was very kind to you however I know for a fact that a lot of immigration officers at airports can be extremely mean and they denied my friend re-entry with her parole document. She was devastated and up to this day she still can't get back in the country. I urge everyone unless you absolutely have to leave please be careful.

Do you know where she was attempting to enter the country?

what else do you know about your friend's experience? Anything special about her case?

Did she have everything in order? We have not heard anyone denied re-entry to the states with advance parole. Maybe she will be the first one we know.

Hello everyone,

Has anyone received AP through education(studying abroad, etc) or employment (conferences, etc?
Thanks in advance.

Hi everyone! I wanted to ask a couple questions. My boyfriend got approved for AP and we are supposed to leave on March 7 (he got approved for March 1) and be back by March 22.He is approved until April 10. He has his work permit and just renewed his DACA a couple months ago. Anyway, Ive seen that a lot of people post about their husband/wife going with them, we're not married yet but we plan to this year when its warmer. Does anyone think we'll have any type of problems or conflicts on why we're traveling together?? I called our lawyer and he asked me if he was going alone and I told him I was going to go with him, and he just made me even more nervous saying that to be careful and not have them see us together because what if they ask him why he wants to come back if Im there with him.. I don't know. We're leaving from Chicago IL and arriving in Morelia MX.

I got AP for work purposes and came back with no issues. Very few standard questions to me at Atlanta airport. I arrived at 5:30am so that's probably why lol.

When i arrived, there must have been at least 300 people on the citizen/visitors line. I approached the officer handling the traffic and said i had an AP document, which line should i go to? She actually said to follow her to a separate handling area and i basically cut the whole BIG line. Process took about 1/2 hour tops and i was on my way.

What is the reason for his travel? It depends a lot on that. Immigration officer might question you coming with him if he's going for work or education. I wouldn't risk it if that was the case.

If he's visiting an ailing relative and you're a US citizen, then my advice is for him to go to the CITIZEN's line with you when you arrive back in the US and they would check his paperwork there. You could say to any officer that you wanted to be with him during a tough time so that's why you went.

Optionally, you can both go to the visitor's line i guess.

BRZ09tls... Thanks for the quick reply...More details please. What type of work do you do? What documents were required? Length of process? Etc. I work in a physical therapy clinic that wants me to go have specialized training in London this summer. I'm a little apprehensive.
Thanks in advance.
