Southern Georgia. No cities. No subway. All green and trees. Barely snows.

I actually just met someone from NYC. They moved here two years ago due to the how expensive it was to live there.

I work in century city/ Beverly Hills but I live 22 miles away because of rent prices. Takes me an hour to get to work. Now santamonica rent is really pricey that's a con. Pro is very diverse and fun City. Check out westsiderentals to get an idea of rent

LA in general is an awesome city with all types of nationalities.

As far as Asian woman there out here and they don't descriminate

What is the biggest moving factor for you? Money, culture, etc.

Portland, OR:

There are a lot of fine art and editorial artist in Portland. Private viewing parties and galleries happen often. A lot of wilderness for hiking or camping. A lot of independent stores, restaurants, theaters, etc.

Circa 150 of rainy days per year. Circa 140 sunny days per year. Not that much snow.

Estimated household income is on par with the national averages. Sales, office, administrative support account for 17.93% of the work force. Followed by agriculture at 15.41%, construction/maintenance 12.05%. In terms of industry: Health Care and Social Assistance, Specialty Trade Contractors, and Professional, Scientific, and Technical Services. Unemployment rate as of 2016 was 1 point lower than the national average.

LGBT friendly.

Real-estate is expensive, you pay about 100k more for houses than national average.

Ranked 32 by US News as the best place to live.

If it’s between Santa Monica, CA and Portland, OR:

Portland Oregon vs. Santa Monica for cost of living. You can view a quick comparison here.

In both cities, females out number males. However, not by a large margin. In both cities people primarily work in white collar jobs. The two are similar in terms ethnic demographics.

But Santa Monica has more single people than Portland. And simply due to size, there’d be more computer science jobs in California than Oregon.

Ps: If you’re talking about Portland, Maine, ignore this post. lol

I'm not worried about cost of living because as long as I have a job in my field I'll be able to afford it.

I got turned off Santa Monica / LA due to the air pollution and heavy traffic.

I want to live somewhere surrounded by nature and where I can own a car.
