Targeting the American public... with 5,000 signatures. How many of these petitions ever resulted in anything tangible?

Online petitions give us an excuse to say "we did something, its better than nothing." Well it is worse than nothing because its fake progress.

Don't pass the word and instead get of your ass and call or visit your legislators.

Exactly my point, because it had a purpose! "Convince the American public" is just too vague.

_Those_ are the things that made it happen and the petition gave them attention.
