I would like to hear your thoughts, and how that moment affected the rest of your life up to this point. I know some people gave up hope and unfortunately returned to their country of origin.

That was nothing. The failure in 2007 was the one that was a killer. For me at least. Felt like just dropping dead lol

Oh god, yes. I was a lurker here on DAP and I was watching it live on TV. The numbers kept rising and rising and I was getting very excited....

And well, the rest is history...

When it passed in the House I was excited on the inside but never showed it. Then when it failed in the Senate I was taking a final and didn't want to think about it because I didn't want it to affect my grade. Then as soon as I got out I received the bad news and well all I thought was life goes on. I was having a bittersweet moment because I knew I aced my economics final but at the same time I had that little voice inside my head saying for what?

Btw: I aced that class! Best professor ever!

I didn't want to think about that possibility and just hope. It had only passed the house by a slim margin, but the thing is....we were only 5 votes away from passage in the senate. So you can't say we don't have support in the congress.

yeah, i really thought the whole thing was a little too premature back then. however, i do believe that if it brought back again to congress, we have a better chance.
