As always, we're left behind, an after thought, a "whatever"

https://www.uscis.gov/eadautoextend

"ALERT: On April 4, 2024, USCIS announced a temporary final rule that increases the automatic extension period for employment authorization and EADs available to certain EAD renewal applicants from up to 180 days to up to 540 days."

On the list of "Categories Eligible for Automatic Extensions"
DACA (c)(33) is NOT listed which means we aren't eligible.

My EAD expired over a month ago, therefore my REAL ID DL is expired (I had to renew as non-compliant).

USCIS site states that my case is still in progress, I submitted via mail back in October 2023! I contacted USCIS, I got an email stating that I am "in line to be reviewed", I contacted my representative and the response was similar or to provide documentation to expedite the process, sigh.

Correct me if I'm wrong, please.

All those categories were already eligible for automatic extension and they just extended it. That's why DACA has never been part of these extensions in the past either.

Temporary rules to extend work auth for an additional 6-18 months should be considered for all work authorization renewals, no matter the category, otherwise unless you are a recently arrived asylee or refugee you are at risk of losing your job/livelihood.

It’s crazy how I see people getting approved within a month and you’re not 7 months and nothing. My fear is this happening to me when I apply later this year.

yep, we are the ones paying into the system the most, and not taking to the country, and they are not ensuring in all they can that we continue to to keep paying into the system uninterrupted

Yeah it's been that way ever since the very beginning. One of the reasons why I hated DACA, now personally I have never lapsed but every renewal was just a huge pile of anxiety.
