okay so I'm a bit confused because i thought that, from what i have read here in california you pay instate tuition but you don't get financial help? not even scholarships? but then, I just heard of someone who's a friend of a friend that she got financial help and everything with her little tax number, (itin?) i don't know. but i have that and I was wondering if that shit's true. because i'm just annoyed that i just heard about it right now, and all of a sudden i hear of someone who is going to a really good university and her tax number works as her social security number. I'm confused. why didn't u guys mention anything about that?

well wouldnt be easier if you were to ask the friend of your friend. and even if is not true there are private scholarships that doesnt require a ssn... but if it is true make sure to let us know is possible..

Listen, we're just telling you what we know from our own experiences and what the laws and regulations state. If your friend of a friend is getting financial aid, then maybe she is because someone messed up her paperwork and classified her as eligible for financial aid. Such errors are not uncommon and are prone to happen because of the human input involved in the financial aid application process. I know of three undocumented students who are getting financial aid from the state despite the aid being restricted to US citizens/permanent residents.

Stuff like this happens, and if it happens to us then we post it on this forum. But the laws and regulations are what they are and we can't say that oh legally you're entitled to receive financial aid.

On another note, don't rely on this forum as your sole source of information for college/financial aid/careers etc. This forum is supposed to supplement any research or legwork that you do on your own.
