Hi everyone,

I came across this blog site a few days ago and I just didn't have the time to get involved for taking some very intensive Architecture studio classes. The University is pretty much my home ^_^.

Well in any case, I am so glad and relieved that many are in the same situation as I am.

I was brought to the US at age 14. I've been here for about 9 years and things are pretty hard for me and my siblings that are going through the same difficulties. I have felt very frustrated to be in this situation.

I have also thought of going back to my home country, but I just cannot just leave my studies now and waste a year or so getting in another university.

I will be checking here often to see new stories about how things are moving with the DREAM Act.

Oh I have also found helpful information in the Dream Act Portal to contact those in power to do something. Great blogsite.

Well back to work on 3D models for me,

Thanks for taking the time to read this.

Welcome to DAP! We're all here in the same boat. If I were you, I would not move back to your birth country... wait to see what happens in 2009 which is the next best chance of DREAM passing.

As for being an architecture major... props to you! My cousin is also in that field and basically has no life since she spends 24/7 in the studio. Again, welcome and stick around!

Hi erikasxoxo and gsb89,

Well to answer erikas' question. Taking architecture means that most likely your new home will be the building or architecture ^_^. I am taking it in the summer, a special program in which they give you 32 weeks in only 11 weeks, and in the first week of studio we had gone through work for like 4 weeks in a normal semester. I did this to get ahead one year and start as a second year on the fall. I guess once I start taking classes on the fall I'll think I have too much time to finish projects

Oh and you'll also notice that you would most likely have to spend a good amount of money on materials for the models, but it's great at the studio, I love it! hehe. Even if I have to practically live at the studio. Oh and it's fun! you'll find out that x-acto blades are used for many more things than just cutting materials to build models, a few include x-acto darts, x-acto ninja stars, you name it :P. You'll know what I'm talking about when you start the studio ^_^.

So yeah, if you like architecture, it won't seem hard at all, as for me I can spend hour after hour on a project and not get bored.

Hey, gsb89

Seems like there's a lot of people here going for architecture. I guess I'll see you around on the field a few years from now

I am in a very small class (not everyone makes it to take the summer classes, they are pretty intensive) I noticed that most of us there speak Spanish and English (and a little of something else *clears throat* bit of Chinese from me :O) ^_^. I guess that sometimes makes me think how when I read something discouraging around the net, like "they are just a bunch or illiterates" burns me up. People can't even tell most of the time where one is from or tell any difference whatsoever on because of our fluency and how much alike we really are.

Well in any case, I'm about to head to the studio, have projects to finish

You'll love architecture guys! Ah and try making contacts with architects, despite the fact that sometimes I feel frustrated thinking what would happen after I graduate with a Masters in architecture, I still have met a few architects that I keep a good relationship with.

Later guys and take care.

Quick question, How are you able to go to school?? My I-20 is no longer valid and I cannot apply anymore. Due to family circumstances with the business and all, I skipped more than a year of college. This basically fucked me over because now I can't reapply to college due to my status. *SCREWED*
