What I'm afraid of is that people in Colombia are going to start seen Alvaro Uribe as a savior.

The only reason why the Colombian government actually did something was because of the international pressure on them ( France and USA). It was reported that the US was involved in this mission too, but they dont wanna say in what way.

There are hundreds of cops, civilians, and military personnel that have been captive for far longer than Ingrid and the three americans but i guess you have to be from a different country to get rescued.

Anyway, I like Ingrid and im glad shes free, when she ran for president she was with Green Party of Colombia (the progressive party at the time)

I kinda get where you're coming from, but you have to understand that rescuing her and the Americans was a MUCH bigger blow the the FARC because they were key hostages.

Uribe can't be a savior until all the hostages are sucessfully rescued and Colombia is finally in peace.

yea now that the "key" prisoners have been liberated i hope the Colombian govmnt doesnt forget the approximately 2000 captives still in the FARCs hands.

I know they wont give them much importance anymore.

No, I'm not kidding.

Does the idea of Colombia finally being in peace one day sound funny to you?

I was reading about Ingrid's capture a few months back and wondered if she would make it out alive... When I heard she's free, I was so relieved. Those secret agents are just... marvelous for executing the whole operation.

My mom for some reason thinks its all a set-up. For someone living in the jungle for that long, I was expecting to see her skin and body in worse condition than it is.

But I don't know, I really don't think someone could ever fake that for so long.

You really think she'd be willing to stay away from her kids for SIX years?

Im not trying to speculate anything about the process but somethings seem a little odd to me... including her supposedly having hepatitis, but thats just my opinion, we'll see what happens.

No just weird. A country divided by drug cartels and corruption for so long being in peace just amuses me but sincerely I don't see it happening any time soon.
