hey everyone, i dunno if this question has been asked before but I haven't seen it or I don't remember it being asked.

Is there any way to find out if you, assuming you overstayed your visa, are banned from entering the US for ten years if you decide to leave?

Is there any stories of people who were illegal or undocumented, left the US, and reentered legally besides marriage? for instance an f-1 or h-1b?

Any stories, articles, links, or sources would be appreciated and not just answers off the top of people's heads. thanks guys!

well if you do use the search function it would tell you that there is a 10 year ban. I am pretty sure that they are very strict with the 10 year ban, I don't think there's almost any way around that.

Go to immigrate2us.net and ask over there, they might have more information regarding that question.

There was an article I read concerning how embassies process visas & it was mentioned that sometimes they do background checks on the applicant to see if they have an A# number in the US.They probably do it all the time now though.

B1 & B2 visas have come a loooong way since the stamped versions[in your passport] that I know of.They are now in Biometric form so it could be quite difficult to get a new one if/when you leave the country & try to return.

Here is a typical B1/B2 visitor's visa.
