Lets hope they DON'T use pix in the actual mag either, because the one they had me approve looked like an ad for Testmasters... But maybe I won't get lucky and Tim is just not done removing the names off the plaques

I didn't expect Eddy to give me any semblance of a good piece so I am not too surprised. It's the US News for crying out loud. But I am never going to pass up an opportunity to make myself be heard or represent who I am. And neither should anyone else.

P.S. Mo shouldn't complain, he already got to see a preview of me in bed, LOL!
They removed some comments; I don't think they are entirely done with the piece yet.

i could have written this article in less than a day. just take some random generic info in all other dream articles, conduct some new interviews and plug them in with the generic info.

Ok yea, I found an email from Eddy saying
"FYI: The story on Dreamers will close Aug. 7, meaning it will appear in the issue of U.S. News that hits news stands the following week. It goes live on the web that week. I'm still writing the story and you'll hear from a fact-checker before it goes to press."

I wish I was in that position ... Now I think I should do an MA in journalism just for the heck of it. Imagine having the power to publish the stories of those that are usually unheard or rendered invisible, even being helped to locate these voices, and still not able to come up with anything substantial.

I will give Eddy credit on one thing -- He did not turn the article and specifically "illegal immigration" into an issue confronting only Latinos. Most of the students interviewed and covered were non-Hispanic.

That is pathetic free. How does zeezil and icebaby -- the usual suspects get to spam and our comment spam is blocked out? LOL... I need to find that comment spam file I had built.

Same as free, my comment from yesterday did not show up. Would have been nice if they had as we most likely would have been the first comments to show up after the article.
