I know some of you guys know about road bikes, and I wonder how much did you guys spend a bike? I went to the local bicycle shop to buy road bike, but it was extremely pricey!! The cheapest one was around 600$$ So I decided to check some road bikes in cragslist and I found this one road bike for 180$ I think I'm going to buy that bike but I dont know anything about bike at all!! Can anyone give me general information about road bikes and how much I should spend on road bikes? Thanks!

that depends what you want to do with the bike. Just casual riding? Triathlon? or Tour de france? j/k but if you want to do some serious competition stuff, expensive investment for a light bike will make a difference and be worth it.

However, if you are kinda casual rider, I would say get a used one, a decent light frame and upgrade the rest of the components as it breaks.

I grew up riding a old road bike and it was super light and way faster than my mountain bike. I am currently waiting for GT Avalanche 2.0 mountain bike to be released september so I can shell out 650 dollar on it

Invest in a good roadbike and you won't go wrong. $180 seems too cheap. $300 range may get you some good ones.

I have an incredibly lightweight Diamondback. Schwinn makes the best road bikes but maybe too expensive.

How about checking out some models on bikesdirect and having your local shop assemble?
