Where I'm going we, as DREAMers should not judge others based on the choices they have taken...in this instance: driving without a license.

I'm pointing this out because in the past I've been "attacked" or "accused" of driving without a license here in the forum. Everyone knows that if I could get a DL, I would had done so a long time ago.

In conclusion, we should all stand together and be united since we all are in the same boat.
This is one of the few times that i'll agree with juan, sometimes you do what you gotta do, because at the end of the day you still have to eat. Some of us are lucky enough to have our parent(s) still supporting us, others not so much. It's easy to be judgmental without walking in someone else's shoes, just saying... But then again if shit hits the fan, then might as well take the lumps and then work and hope for the best.

I agree with juang, Ark, geronimo610 and String. I’m sure he would have gotten the license if he could have. Everyone has to eat and if this is what he has to do then I cannot and will not condemn him for it. Some aspects of the law are wrong and immoral and punish people (dreamers) for the actions of their parents - PERIOD.

Remember, Nazis had laws too and those that were ‘good moral Jews’ that followed all laws to the letter lined up for relocation transports but instead ended up in the gas chambers. Now, I realize this is an extreme comparison but I would rather see someone drive without a license to where they have to go so they can put food on the table so they will not STARVE to death.

I am not encouraging anyone to break the law but I think that you are wrong on this one Verve by trying to shame a fellow dreamer without knowing his situation.

Juang- I understand that some DREAMies don't have any other means of transportation other than driving themselves without a license. I was just saying that it seemed to me Danny was feeling like he got screwed over by the system when he shouldn't be since it was his fault he got a ticket and now has to pay fines for it. That's all. It sucks, but it happened and you can't blame the gov't for making him pay since he did break the law. (And please don't try to tie my last statement to DREAM cuz that's not what we're talking about here and I don't feel that way in terms of our overall situation.)

Look I see what you guys are saying but I have to agree with verve somewhat. When it comes to issues like this we should employ the

policy and stfu, especially on this forum OK?

Yeah, lets do a group hug.

You know what the good book says "let he who is without sin cast the first stone" and we're technically breaking the law just by our very presence here. Sometimes, the law just needs to be changed or rectified as is the case with our situation. Danny made a mistake and I hope he learns from it. And we ask for empathy from others when we plead for the Dream Act; we should give it ourselves.

i think everyone should just leave danny alone. if people wanna drive w/o a license, let them do it. they might get caught and get deported later on or they can't qualify for dream but who cares? it doesnt affect you either way so there's no use in attacking people for driving w/o a license. i wouldnt dirve w/o a license cuz im scared of unforseen consequences but if other illegals wanna try it, let them.

theres a reason why you need a license in order to drive. its for safety purposes. ppl who drive w/o them are just not concerned about safety.

Maybe you should get off your high horse. Public transportation doesn't suit everyone's needs.
first of all, it's not a oxymoron. Dream act is for kids who didn't break the law. Our parents broke the law by bringing us here. I dont know about you but I wasn't asked if i wanted to stay here illegally.

Second, I live in the suburbs of NJ where public transportation is very scarce. Without a car here, you are practically trapped. I have to beg my relatives for rides all the time so dont tell me to get of my high horse. I dont have one. I walked to my highschool every day while all my other 18 yrs old classmates drove by on their cars.

I realize that you have to do what you have to do to survive and I deeply feel sorry for Danny that he is forced to drive without a license because i feel his pain. I feel it every time some asshole honks or yells something crude when i'm walking to the train station. But that doesn't mean that I'm going to take a risk getting into a car accident and endanger my life and someone else's by driving without a license. What if Danny got into an accident and killed someone? It would have instantly turned into a regional news and picked up by all the anti-immigration pundits and radio talkshow hosts. For example, this story right here: O'Reilly uses tragedy to attack immigrants
http://rawstory.com/news/2007/OReill...ants_0405.html
here's the video: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FhwwbNA3hjg

I guess "shame" was a strong word to use on danny but I feel that driving without a license is wrong no matter what the situation is. As 747 pointed out, it's a safety issue and I guess everyone's priority on safety is different. So sorry if i ruffled some feathers by condemning a fellow dreamer for his illegal action. One lawbreaker yelling at another fellow lawbreaker....now that's the real oxymoron.

As many have said, "do it at your own risk." We all care about each other, but at the same time we're not going to be babysitting, let alone feel guilty about what others do as far as 'surviving' goes.

OH yeah... welcome back.

As closing statement:

I wish that those that are in my side on this issue would add to my reputation. If nick had not make it "visible", I would had never known people left so funny comments about me. Some are really funny...like the one that says "You're an ass" The 3rd one going down. I checked the thread to see what I had said...and to my surprise it was that post about the Muppets Babies Intro Video.

I laughed my ass off. Now I know some people have something personal againts me. I wish I knew who left that comment (and the rest of them), so I can personally give them my "two words of wisdom" straight to their faces, and not hidden behind anonimity.
