Hubby is a Permanent Resident!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Sorry not to post sooner things have been crazy around here! He is still waiting on the social and green card for over a month now so nothing has really changed yet! Still no job or car but hopefully soon! Sometimes it just takes a while. He entered at a really deserted bridge so that might have something to do with how long it's taking for the paperwork to reach the correct places.

Anyway! I have TONS of advice and info for anyone going through this .. if you have a girlfriend/boyfriend/fiance/husband/wife that is illegal and you want to help them or if you yourself are illegal and your girlfriend/boyfriend/fiance/husband/wife is a resident or citizen please ask away! I am already helping 2 couples here in Los Angeles giving them advice. PM me or E-Mail me I hope I've made myself available enough! I've gotten a few e-mails before.

Just wanted everyone to know that it's totally possible and not to give up hope! I noticed a TON of posts about people who have left the country and given up. This really saddens me.. people please at least wait until the election results and give it a year or so more. It is so worth it once you have that visa in your hand you won't even remember the pain anymore. It is the best feeling in the world I can't describe it. When he crossed that street coming out of the consulate and gave me a thumbs up I just grabbed him and cried and squeezed so hard and out came all the pain and all the months of hard work and that was it - it was OVER. We both released it and went home together..

And besides, eventually almost everyone falls in love and gets engaged/married right? Odds are that this person would be a citizen or at least a resident. Have patience !! Once I started the paperwork this process only took TEN months. That's it! (and a couple thousand dollars - hell ok including hotel, fees, travel and a month stuck in Mexico more like $10,000 - but well worth it)

Bottom line - anyone scared to start this - don't be. It's simple (if you have a simple case), fast, and most of all WORTH IT.. !

Being able to get stopped at a border patrol checkpoint (still shaking I might add) and when they start questioning you bust out that visa.. PRICELESS..
Those guys are INTIMIDATING.. but once you hand them that visa and they inspect it all close they have to wave you on .. hehe

Task! That's awesome! We had a thread about you a while back... someone said your hubby became legal and it was such great news... you both deserved it so much! I'm glad you let us know how everything went. I can't imagine that feeling... so exciting! Glad you're doing well and tell you hubby congrats!
