I was like... WHAT??? How would Obama's stance on immigration piss off his base? His base worships the ground he walks on and his immigration stance is favorable to democrats. McCain, maybe because after closing the border he supports CIR and he has a history of pro-immigration, he has reason to hide but not Obama... That Lou Dobb... is full of crap.

you know why it was never mentioned in this campaign? Because no one gives a crap about immigration when we got issues like Economy, War, Healthcare.
This had nothing to do with "Base"...this had to do with voters. If we still have not noticed, Immigration is a VERY touchy subject to Natural born American Citizens.

If McCain mentioned CIR or anything to do with Immigration and Obama did not, this would piss off his voters, which in turn he feared would turn on him for the Candidate that did not mention any immigration as a priority in such a difficult time.

Obama on the other hand, Didn't mention CIR or anything to do with Immigration, because he knew if he didn't and McCain did, he'd get a lot of McCain voters to come across the aisle in this election and would still have a chance at keeping his own voters because they all already know where he stands without any mention, just as we did.

Neither candidate mentioned it with good reason. However, it would've and did benefit Obama regardless.
