This is a question inspired by my favorite movie of ALL TIME 'High Fidelity'.

If DREAM had a soundtrack or you could make a mix tape that would go with that of the experiences, thoughts or the motivation of DREAMies etc. What would be your Top 5 songs on that list?

Just interested on what responses are out there ... i listened to alot of music whenver I either felt depressed or needed motivation to keep me going.

I had a road trip from New York to Chicago (stopping at Dayton and Lexington) with a with a friend of mine after I graduated from high school. These are the five songs that I remember from the trip that are forever ingrained in me.

1. Foo Fighters - My Hero
State: Pennsylvania

2. Tom Cochrane - Life is a Highway
State: Indiana
Quote:
Through all these cities and all these towns
It's in my blood and it's all around
I love you now like I loved you then
This is the road and these are the hands
From Mozambique to those Memphis nights
The Khyber Pass to Vancouver's lights
3. The Killers - Read My Mind
State: Ohio

4. Bon Jovi - Who Says You Can't Go Home?
State: New Jersey

5. John Denver - Country Roads, Take Me Home
State: Kentucky
Quote:
I hear her voice
In the mornin hour she calls me
The radio reminds me of my home far away
And drivin down the road I get a feelin
That I should have been home yesterday, yesterday
The best memories of my life.

Guess I should have listed mine...

Songs that in my opinion would go well on a documentary on DREAM situation etc. would be:

Radiohead - Subterranean Homesick Alien
"I'd tell all my friends
But they'd never believe
They'd think that I'd finally lost it completely"

Joy Division - From Safety to Where...?
"All the wheels that have turned,
The memories scarred and the vision is blurred.

No I don't know just why,
Don't know which way to turn,
The best possible use.

Just passing through, 'till we reach the next stage.
But just to where, well it's all been arranged.
Just passing through but the break must be made.
Should we move on or stay safely away?"

Rage Against the Machine - Its a beautiful world.
"Its a wonderful time to be here
Its nice to be alive
Wonderful people everywhere
The way they comb their hair makes me want to say
Its a wonderful place
Oh what a wonderful place
For you, for you, for you, for you, for you, for you, not me"

The Smiths - Please, Please, Please Let me get what I want
"Havent had a dream in a long time
See, the life Ive had
Can make a good man bad

So for once in my life
Let me get what I want"

Linkin Park - Ppr Kut
"It's like I'm / paranoid lookin' over my back
It's like a / whirlwind inside of my head
It's like I / can't stop what I'm hearing within"

Aerosmith - Dream On would be ok except it the end of the chorus.

Well those are it....

Omg i love you lol

Here's mine

Radiohead- How to Disappear Completely

"I'm not here
This isn't happening
I'm not here, I'm not here

In a little while
I'll be gone
The moment's already passed
Yeah, it's gone"

I dunno about everyone else but back in High School I got to a point where i turned into a loner because i was afraid of anyone finding out the ugly truth about me.

Beatles- Getting Better

"I've got to admit it's getting better
A little better all the time
(It can't get no worse!)"

Ain't that the truth

Pink Floyd- Hey You

"Hey you, dont tell me theres no hope at all
Together we stand, divided we fall."

If we stand together we can make our DREAMs happen (god that was cheesy)

Bob Dylan- The Times they are A-changin'

"Come senators, congressmen
Please heed the call
Dont stand in the doorway
Dont block up the hall
For he that gets hurt
Will be he who has stalled
Theres a battle outside
And it is ragin.
Itll soon shake your windows
And rattle your walls
For the times they are a-changin.

Come mothers and fathers
Throughout the land
And dont criticize
What you cant understand
Your sons and your daughters
Are beyond your command
Your old road is
Rapidly agin.
Please get out of the new one
If you cant lend your hand
For the times they are a-changin."

Self explanatory

Radiohead- Exit Music (for a film)

"You can laugh
A spineless laugh
We hope that your rules and wisdom choke you
Now we are one
In everlasting peace

We hope that you choke.. that you choke"

It's really about Romeo and Juliet but i always figured that's what i'd want to say to Alicrappers once the DA passes

Smashmouth - I get knocked down

We'll be singing
When we're winning
We'll be singing

Chorus:
I get knocked down
But I get up again
You're never going to keep me down

Green Day - Boulevard of Broken Dreams
I walk a lonely road
The only one that I have ever known
Don't know where it goes
But it's home to me and I walk alone

I walk this empty street
On the Boulevard of Broken Dreams
Where the city sleeps
and I'm the only one and I walk alone

It's Chumbawumba, but I can see Smashmouth doing a cover.

1. Try Again - Westlife
"Hush now, don't you cry
There will be a better day
I promise you.

Try again
Never stop believing
Try again
Don't give up on your love
Stumble and fall
It's the part of it all
So when you fall down
Just try again."

2. You Are Loved (Don't Give Up) - Josh Groban
"Don't give up
It's just the weight of the world
When you're heart's heavy
I...I will lift it for you

Don't give up
Because you want to be heard
When silence keeps you
I...I will break it for you"

3. Vienna Waits for You - Billy Joel

4. Harder Better Faster Stronger - Kanye West ft. Daft Punk
"That that that that don't kill me
Can only make me stronger
I need you to hurry up now
'Cause I can't wait much longer"

I can't find a fifth one.

These probably aren't typical but they are important to me and relate to my experiences here.

Nick Cave - The Night of the Lotus Eaters
Manu Chao - Bongo Bong
New Order - State of the Nation
Gogol Bordello - American Wedding
Jack's Mannequin - Swim
