I was looking up some scholarships from my uni. website and I qualify for some, but the problem is that they require some sort of "community leadership." My first take is that they're probably looking for volunteer work, or like if I belong in a club or something. I did an unpaid internship before, would that satisfy the requirement? or am I just being lazy?

Also, what's your take on GPA. Right now I have above a 3.0, but I had a rough start this semester and I think that might bring it below that 3.0. I have like 3 C's and like one A. Do they really enforce that rule? It sucks because 80% of scholarships require a 3.0 GPA and only about 5% of those scholarships are Dreamer-Friendly.

My advice is:
-Apply for everything you can, not applying because you THINK you may not qualify is not an excuse at all, the scholarships I've received are the ones I didn't think I could get.
-Don't apply for those scholarships that have US Citizenship/Permanent Residency as an eligibility criteria, just don't waste your time on those there's many other that don't have that requisite.
-Become bffs with a counselor, visit often enough for him/her to know you by name and tell him/her about your situation (just say you're in the process of getting your permanent residency) and ask often about scholarships for you and they might be able to guide you through [I got roughly 3 scholarships this way]
-And YES, start volunteering more and become a member of a club, is the best way to meet people and build up you resume. Also, some clubs have the purpose of informing students of scholarships so there you go you kill 2 or 3 birds with one stone.

I am the president of a club at school and I cannot stress enough how important it is to become involved, not only because is something you can put down on your resume but because i've seen how students, who are members of a club, have a huge advantage over kids who are not (as far as internships, scholarships, and other stuff go).

...ok i'll shut up now

The counselor thing is out of the question. My school counselors are retarded. I've been to them already and they're not very helpful. I think it's mostly because of budget cuts and the fact that they need a lot of Business counselors and they end up hiring some young hot counselors that are useless. Anyways, I was afraid you would say something about the club thing.

Maybe not all of them are like that, I went through a few useless counselors before I found one that was really nice to me, she now knows me enough to write me letters of recommendation, which is cool. And she always tells me about scholarships when I go over, and she's even on the committee for some of them and I always get those lol.
Why are you afraid of joining a club? is it that you don't have the time?

I concur joining organizations help beef up your resume. The DREAMie resumes often times may not have any pertinent experience to the major of study so being active in organizations pertinent to your major is a good way to beef up the resume and build credentials for scholarships etc.
