hi does anybody know the actual logistics of going through marriage as an option for getting you documentation. I mean what determines weather you have to go back to you country of origin for a certain period? or do you just have to no matter what. The reason i ask that is i heard that if you came here legally like for example with a visa, and are here now on an expire visa, you don't have to go back for any period. Also what happens if you get married but you don't live with your spouse because you are away at school? (mind you i am talking about an actual marriage where you plan to stay with this person for your entire life) well yea i know this is a question i should ask a lawyer but maybe some of you are in a similar situation and know some of this or other useful and important information.

You're 100% correct. If you came here illegally then you would have to appeal so they can remove the 10 year ban. Every marriage is different, but for legalization purposes, it's a good idea to live with your spouse and have bills and bank accounts under both names, etc.

We do not discuss that here.

I think it is best you check out the legalization thread & look at the Part B scenario.
