So I got a call back from one of Durbin's staffers after leaving a detailed message about the DREAM Act. The bad thing is that staffers are extremely restricted as to what they can say... they have to be VERY careful... so most say "I cannot say, I cannot confirm, we don't know... etc... etc..." we understand. Anyhow, all I got was this... DREAM is definitely a high priority... They don't know if it'll be a stand alone or not. The first step is to have the bill introduced. He said it would be best to do all the calling, faxing, and emailing then -- otherwise it wont be as effective. I still think we should hop on the phones every now and then and remind Congress that we are still here and this is still important! In the end, I told him to thank Senator Durbin very much and tell him that we appreciate all his efforts and support... he told me that the Senator really appreciates the kind words from the students... and again he reminded me... it is a very high priority. That's all I got, that's good enough for me, I know Senator Durbin can't snap his fingers and have it pass.

Thanks MBluparadise for taking your time to reach out to Senator Durbin and asking him about DREAM Act. It is a must that we need to do everything we can to create an urgency, forcing Congress to pass the DREAM Act.

great news, we should def continue to make calls when we can so they don't forget, but be ready for full force when it gets introduced.

It's great that Durbin's representatives say that DREAM is still a high priority.
Too bad we can't get more detailed reports.
I'd just like to get a more clear-cut time frame on the bill's introduction.

That's ok.
This is good enough for now.
Thanks!
