hey Dreamers in Michigan,

I had a talk with an attorney at my school and we got into discussing about renewing DL in Michigan without legal status. She is incredibly knowledgeable about immigration law in Michigan and it is conclusive...

that undocumented aliens CANNOT renew DLs in Michigan without papers, none of which we can obtain. A legitimate SS is not sufficient enough, you need more documentation to renew.

Sorry to burst the bubble for those in Michigan, I'm sure this might affect some of you guys more than me.

If you want a driver's license to drive you can get a Driving Privellege Card in Utah thats not valid for identification and its good only for driving (you will have to register your car in Utah though). Soon it will also be possible in New Jersey.

If you want a normal driver's license that you could use to fly domestic then its complicated but still possible from what I heard. What about New Mexico and Maryland?

Has anyone gotten a license in Maryland? It seems to be the closest state, and I'm willing to go really soon. I really need the DL!
