Us mods do what we can, but unfortunately we can't be monitoring 24/7. Most spams are caugh and banned/deleted within 24 hours though.

Interesting how they focus on this thread, obviously some human interaction is involved.

New student service: Government launches new online application to help international students apply to off-campus work
By Karolina Rous

On Sept. 3, Diane Finley, minister of citizenship and immigration, announced that the Government of Canada is now providing a new online application service for international students seeking off-campus work permits.

This is on the heels of the introduction of an extended three-year work permit in August that international students can apply for, and the newly proposed immigrant class intended to help foreign students, Canadian Experience Class, unveiled this month.

Because the new application is an online service, international students can take advantage of it any time, anywhere within Canada. A student can complete his or her entire application for a permit online, which will help reduce the overall wait time for approval.

In a government release, Minister Finley explained the purpose of this new online application.

"By making it easier for international students to work off campus, we are making Canada a more attractive destination for international students."

"We want foreign students to choose Canada. We want them to gain experience, and to contribute to our economy while they are here. Making our services easily accessible will help us do that," she added.

Helping make the transition to Canada easier on international students who wish to eventually settle in Canada, along with this new development, the government has also extended the length of work permits from two to three years and proposed the above-mentioned new immigration class in an effort to help them gain more work experience.

You can check out the online tool at the Citizenship and Immigration Canada website's Client Services page (http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/e-services/index.asp).

Hi Everyone!

It's been a while that I've posted, but here's my current info on Canadian immigration for those that are considering it as an option.

I'm currently applying under the skilled immigrant work program. I know that for some of you it may be difficult to prove you work experience. However, if you can obtain a reference letter from a job that you may have held regardless of your status, you can use this as a support document for your labor experience. The program was recently changed and the following link can provide you with additional information.

I'm currently processing my application through a Canadian attorney who has explained to me that I will not have to leave the US unless an appointment is requested by the visa office in my native county, in this case Mexico. I will be completing my MBA in June which means that I would have to wait close to 8 months to receive either an approval/denial. Each case is different, and I'll be happy to share more info if you would like to PM me.

As a final note, I was also notified that you can actively process any documentation in the US at the same time as you process your Canadian PR, and it would not interfere with the process. Although I'm very hopeful that the Dream will come to pass this year and I fully support it and will do my very best to see it come through, I thought it would be beneficial to my fellow dreamers any additional options they could use.

I will keep on posting as I gather more information...

hmm I heard that you have to go back to a country of your legal residence... how is this possible to apply and interview from U.S. even though we are residing here illegally?
