That's such an ordeal you had to go through, hang in there. The more I read these stories, the more I realize how good I have it.

sorry about your story and what you had to go through with your parents, but you have to know that you have it better than many of us.

for example you say you work.. that is such a huge deal. I wish I could work. I was brought here when I was 7 and am now 23. I can't drive, don't have ID, cannot work. It is horrible. So please be happy that you have a job.

and at least you can use ur passport! my passport is from a middle eastern country therefore I have to wear the head scarf in the picture!!. try explaining THAT to your friends lol... sometimes it is so hard its funny.

also I totally understand what you mean about how this situation becomes part of you. Sometimes I wish I knew what I would be like if I didn't have to go through this stuff.

btw, I am now attending CSUF

Welcome Marcos. I know how hard this struggle is for all of us, and I like you have seen the psychological effects of being "illegal" has had on me. I commend you on going forward and getting into the masters program. Hopefully soon all this darkness will end and we can all see the light.

until then stay strong

Great! another socal dreamer! I bet there are plenty more of us but many don't know about the site. It is a blessing to be able to work and be able to support yourself. I know that by experience. As of now I am attending a community college and i want to transfer to CSUF but due to work my grades aren't really top notch, as of now i should have a 2.7 GPA. so my question is, is it hard to enroll at CSUF? and how much is tuition? By the way, stick around and contribute as much as you can to get the DA passed!.

wow you've come a long way there. when u feel depressed u should think of how far u've come i mean u're already working on your masters that's a huge accomplishment. i know what u mean when u said u wanted to just make everything stop i've felt like that before a lot of times. i feel so lucky to have someone in my life that's there for me when i feel like shit. its weird but i feel like my parents cant even understand what im going trough. hang in there and soon everything will change you'll see. it can't be like this forever

wow that's exactly how i feel. u don't really belong anywhere, trapped like you said, we all want to be part of this country so bad but yet we are not allowed to. and i'm sure none of us want to go back or feel like we belong where we were born.

To put it simple we are "neither from here or over there." We have this complex view of our culture. On a good note thanks to "DAP" we are not alone anymore.
