We had seen this in the past, granted it was after the CIR failure as you mentioned, but there is still a glimmer of hope.

I think the whole DA matter could be disposed of much quicker on its own (duh..) and I am afraid that the whole CIR debate will just stir the pot, and some people will change their minds from "give these poor children a chance..." to "amnesty, again? especially now when our citizens are losing jobs....let me call my senator/respresentative"(and obviously the percentage of the opposition who can vote is much bigger than the one of its supporters) .
I think they want to fix this immigration issue as a whole, well, "try" and fix it. I'm sure that Obama will push for Dream in the event that CIR fails. The way I see it, if it fails in the House, early on, then they wont proceed with the Senate in September and in that case I think Durbin and Obama will push for the DA.

Whydontilook: Actually, the Dream Act was introduced as a standalone bill. In both the Senate and House. And don't worry about the DA not being a part of CIR. It'll be added for sure.

Awesome. I do believe Obama will push DA, in the even his CIR fails. He's huge on education as we all know, so I'm looking forward to see what happens in these next months.

On a side note, I just applied for College..

You can track the bills here:
