We had seen this in the past, granted it was after the CIR failure as you mentioned, but there is still a glimmer of hope.

I think the whole DA matter could be disposed of much quicker on its own (duh..) and I am afraid that the whole CIR debate will just stir the pot, and some people will change their minds from "give these poor children a chance..." to "amnesty, again? especially now when our citizens are losing jobs....let me call my senator/respresentative"(and obviously the percentage of the opposition who can vote is much bigger than the one of its supporters) .

The way I see it, if it fails in the House, early on, then they wont proceed with the Senate in September and in that case I think Durbin and Obama will push for the DA.

Whydontilook: Actually, the Dream Act was introduced as a standalone bill. In both the Senate and House. And don't worry about the DA not being a part of CIR. It'll be added for sure.
