Thanks YGAA.

I especially appreciate this paragraph from Nick:

Quote:
I find it disturbing that in this debate the personal accomplishments of people in this situation are considered important; those factors should be irrelevant. As I read the hate mail that makes it to our in box and the thousands of stories of pain, depression, hiding in plain sight, overcoming, and accomplishment that have been posted on our Web site, I see our struggle for what it is, a fight for human rights.
It's true and needs to be reiterated more. Part of the reason I was 'chosen' for this piece was that my story explicates how the system screws us over even when we do things legally and how I am an accomplished 'model minority' individual. It gets tiring to be in this position though. The DREAM Act is about everyone who is stuck in this seemingly endless limbo and we shouldn't need to be using our 'star students' to make the case for it. It is about human rights.

Of course, testifying up on Capitol Hill will most likely follow the same-old discourse.

Still, as long as our cause gets out there, the better the chances to get more support for DREAM!

You the man Nikolay!

I'll make sure to send more donations Nick, your time and work is greatly appreciated.

Can we have a DAP reunion after the DREAM Act passes? Like at a convention center, I want to personally give thanks to all the wonderful people of DAP.

I was expecting to see some pictures, therefore I am a little disappointed. Or is it one of you any of those people walking in the blurry picture?

as much as I admire the publicity we get, please let's leave out references to our cause as a human rights issue. It's not. It's a plea for fairness, for a reprieve, for the chance to live our lives in the same way our American peers are afforded. The moment you throw around such phrases, you not only arm our dissenters with more to crow about, but you keep potential supporters on the sidelines by making the DA much more than it is.
