Oh cool, we have a lot of stuff in common, which isn't a surprise around these forums. I agree though, can't wait to see this act pass!

Same thing here, my father was here since around 1980, would visit Mexico once or twice a year, then met/brought my mom from Mexico in 1984. When the Amensty in 1986 happened he was eligible (his entire side of the family at the time got legalized except for him) he "didn't feel like going" he then got caught with drug charges and went on the run in Mexico for about 6 months (when I was born). The charges were eventually dropped but he did not learn his lesson. My grandparents eventually became citizens and filed a petition on his behalf in the early 90's but he ruined his chances by getting another drug charge and this time being convincted and serving time in jail.
It blows to think that I was actually "made here" (mom got pregnant with me here) but not "born here".

Keep your chin up! It's not over til it's over and we're just getting started. This is our chance to fight for what we believe in. You're right, what doesn't kill us only makes us stronger
