I live in Chicago. Would it be safe to pick up someone that's coming to visit me at the airport in the international arrivals? I have done it in the past but not for a few years and I am worried they might be checking ID's, I got no DL or anything, but im only picking up someone...what do you think?

Picking up someone, and they check your ID's? not unless you go to an unrestricted area, I have never heard such a thing where they check ID's, for people picking up a person. If you're flying then, yes. But just for a pick-up I highly doubt it.

You don't have to go through any security checkpoints/id checks at the terminals, so you should be fine.

at LAX theres sometimes check points to the entrances.
i know because i went once to pick up relatives, i wasnt driving tho.

the officer just asked the driver for a DL which he had and inspected the trunk and didnt bother me at all. so idk. but make sure you know exactly.

a taxi would be a better option. just make the taxi take them away from the airport a few miles. whats a few bucks compared to gettting caught.

The checkpoint entering LAX is on one side only and it's a normal security checkpoint, not part of DHS or ICE. It's put together by LAPD so there will be no questions of immigration status.

^Airport security IS the probable cause. Do you throw a fit when they go through your luggage? They're supposed to.

I guess you can say, "No I don't want you to check my trunk" and self incriminate yourself, yeah sounds like a great idea being an undocumented person. No one would do something that stupid unless they're hiding something.

I've been to the Chicago international terminal countless times to pick up family... you just park, go inside across the glass "bridge", go downstairs I believe and wait for the person you're picking up at either Gate A or B or in the middle since if you can't figure out which one they're coming through... tons of people just wait there for their families and friends... there are NO security checks at all.

Let me put it in context; as an undocumented person, I'll bend over for a cavity search going to the 7-11 for a slurpee, if it keeps me off the radar.

When I become a citizen, you're goddamn right I'll take the traffic ticket to supreme court.
