Health care reforms aiming for universal coverage won't provide insurance for illegal immigrants and may not address the cost to state and local governments for providing medical care to this large group of the uninsured, the chairman of the Senate Finance Committee said Thursday.

Wait, so what happens to illegal immigrants that do have health insurance? We just keep paying that?

LOL in your mind everyone can come to this country, get a coverage and receive a liposuction, facelift, expensive therapy etc. Essentially drain tax payers' dollars. Most ridiculous thing I've heard in years.

Just tell me this, what if some stranger comes into your house and starts eating from your fridge? Would you be OK with that?

Undocumented immigrants who have private health insurance will not be affected. The likeliest people in that category are undocumented young people who have health insurance through their legal parents who have employers who offer a family health insurance plan.

What Sen. Baucus is talking about is the public health insurance option that competes with private health insurance companies. Undocumented immigrants will not be eligible for this program just like undocumented immigrants are not eligible for other public programs like FAFSA/college aid and Social Security.

The solution to the health care problems of undocumented immigrants is through a path to legalization that would legalize people and brings people into the system through comprehensive immigration reform.
