Hey everyone!

My name is David and I've been looking forward for this to pass for a long time, heres my story :

When i was about 2 years old i departed from Canada and went to
Trinidad and Tobago with my mother. After a while she had left and went to NY and i was left in Trinidad. A short while after I was sent to NY to live with my mother. Now ever since the age of 3 years old I have been in NY without legal
immigration status. On my baby passport i see that i did not enter the
US illegally i have a stamp on there allowing me to stay for a certain
time. However that time stamped on my baby passport is from a long long
time ago, so clearly even though I did not enter the US illegally, I have
over stepped my stay here by about 15+ years. Now while i was here i
completed high school and received my High school Diploma. I was actually
wondering if there is ANYTHING at all i can do at all without having to
return to Canada and not being allowed to enter the US for X amount of
years seeing that I have overstepped my stay here by so long. I have a
biological half sister who is here legally, but her sponsorship can take
up to 10 years+ and im already 20 years old, and I will be 21 years old
in less than 2 months from now. I want to pursue my college education,
get a job, get a liscence,. get a car, live my live like any regular
person whose a citizen here. I asked my mom why didnt she sponger me, but
the person she used to be married to left her, and her status isnt exactly
fixed either, she said she has to wait another year or two to obtain what
she needs, and then parent sponsership can take up to 5
years, I don't want to wait any much longer about. I did not know about
this citizenship and that i wasnt one until when i was about 17 years old
when i tried to apply for a job and i found out i didnt have a SSN.

Pretty much this is not my fault at all even though it is irrelevant knowing my mom tried her hardest to give me everything I need. So knowing that i did graduate from here [ Ramapo Senior High School ] and recieved my high school diploma I hope and pray this passes!

by the way im 21 years now, growing old!

Welcome!!!!

First of all, cool. I've never known of an illegal Canandian.. well, with the exception of the guy on Knocked Up. haha.

Think of the bright side: You came to the US legally, which would make you it easier if your mom or sister were to ever sponsor you, and you wouldnt' have to leave the country. Also, at least you have family members that could help you out. A lot of us here don't even have that.. all we have is the Dream Act.

Lets hope it passes! And don't worry. I'm 20 too. haha.
